Robotics Club

Robotics Club - Check back in September 2023 for more information!

Robotics Club is offered each year to all students who are interested in learning how to build and program a Lego Mindstorms robot in order to compete in local challenges and competitions. Students are taught team building skills, problem solving and basic coding skills. Working in teams or with a partner, they learn to program their robots to complete specific tasks using the engineering design process of researching, designing, building and evaluating. This program offers students interested in engineering and technology to explore and develop their strengths in areas of Science and Math.

Robotics Club:

Begins at two separate times each year – Fall sessions (Oct. – Dec.) and Spring sessions (Feb. – Apr.)

  • The club meets after school twice a week
  • Students compete at the school level, district level (new this year) and at the Skills Canada Competition at the Tradex in the spring.
  • There is a small registration fee which covers entry fees to competitions, Team T-shirts and equipment maintenance.
