Black Shirt Day
On January 15, 2021 & 2022, Dr. Martin Luther King's birthday, thousands of students, educators and citizens across British Columbia and Canada wore black shirts to promote awareness of the struggle for civil rights fought by Black, Indigenous, and Peoples of Colour in Canada.
CALL TO ACTION - All educators and students are encouraged to expand this recognition by wearing a black shirt on Friday, January 13, 2023.
The wearing of black shirts are to inspire ongoing critical conversations, and the upliftment of Black Excellence.

What is Black Excellence Day?
As a lead up to Black History Month, Black Excellence Day is a day to rejoice Black history and learn about Black stories, Black art, and Black people, and a day to stand in solidarity and Black Canadians.
